Transformation in lymphoma. Across indolent lymphomas, transformation to an aggressive lymphoma remains a major cause of rapid disease progression and therapeutic resistance. Our work is focused on deciphering the molecular basis of this major cell state change, unlocking clues into the biology of transformation and identifying therapeutic vulnerabilities of transformed lymphoma.
Determinants of response or resistance to immune-based therapies. Modern oncology has been transformed by the introduction of immunotherapy. However, our understanding of how these therapies work remains incomplete. Our lab uses cutting-edge immunology and genomic techniques and model systems to understand the cell populations and factors that drive successful anti-tumor immunity.
Tracing lymphoma and immune co-evolution. Lymphoma cells evade the immune system as lymphoid malignancies progress or undergo transformation. Our work focuses on understanding immune microenvironmental changes and mechanisms of immune evasion at progression, therapeutic resistance and transformation.
